What to Expect

First and foremost, expect a warm welcome from us when you walk through our doors.

On Sundays we have two masses: 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

8:00 Mass: The Holy Eucharist, Rite I

Our 8:00 a.m. service is a “Rite I” mass, meaning it is celebrated using the original, traditional language of The Book of Common Prayer (similar to the way the King James Version of the Bible sounds); it is a low mass, spoken, and without music.

To use a coffee analogy: the 8:00 a.m. Rite I is like a shot of espresso. Classic Anglican liturgy in high concentrate form.

10:00 Mass: The Holy Eucharist, Rite II

Our 10:00 a.m. “Rite II” mass is a contemporary language (ordinary English) choral service, with organ music and hymns. From September to June, the mass is accompanied by an adult choir. Incense is used at this mass—a sign of the prayers we offer, as we lift our hearts to the Lord in worship. It’s smells-and-bells worship, engaging all of the senses.

Sunday Nursery & Kids in Mass

During the 10:00 a.m. mass, nursery care for toddlers and babies is available for parents to use as they wish. All of our nursery care workers have completed background checks and are CPR/First-Aid certified. It’s a happy place for kids to play and explore, and a nice break for parents. For help locating the nursery, just speak to one of the ushers.

Please also know that children of all ages are always welcome to be in church during worship, and parents need not feel anxious about the ‘ambient noise’ that the little ones among us make. We welcome them, just as Jesus did.
