Next Sunday: Bishop Gutiérrez to Visit St. Paul’s
At 9:30am next Sunday, August 19, the Right Reverend Daniel G. P. Gutiérrez will visit St. Paul’s for a mass including Holy Baptism and the sacramental rites of Confirmation. Again, NB: there will only be one mass next Sunday, and it will begin at 9:30am. After mass, all are invited to a lunch reception in Paxson Hall, and you can sign up to bring food to the Bishop's reception by clicking here. Join us for this special day next Sunday!

Summer Class: Confirmation, Reception, Reaffirmation
Our class preparing candidates to receive Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation concludes today at 9:00am in the Education Wing Conference Room. Today’s topic: “Ministry—doing the work God has given us to do.” Candidates will have the opportunity to receive these sacramental rites when the Bishop visits us next Sunday.

Altar Guild Cleaning Day: Saturday, August 11th at 10:00 am
The Altar Guild will be cleaning the altar, silver, and altar accessories in preparation for the Bishop’s visit on August 19. Brunch will be provided.

School Supply Collection to Benefit the Bucks County Housing Group
It’s that time again! We are collecting back to school supplies for the benefit of Bucks County students ranging from kindergarten to high school. You can view the list of supplies needed by clicking here. There is a box in the coat room where you can leave donations by Sunday. New supplies only please. Thank you! Maureen McGraw

Mass in the Chapel on Wednesday
St. Paul’s will observe the Feast of Saint Mary the Virgin, Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, August 15. All are welcome at this simple mass, starting at 12pm in the Chapel. Enter through the office doors on Pine Street. Come and spend a few moments with us as we keep this feast.

Stewardship: Committee & Fall Campaign
We will soon begin working on the fall Stewardship Campaign. The Committee is seeking new people willing to join in this work—an opportunity to contribute time and talent to the vital task of funding the mission and ministry of St. Paul’s in 2019. This work is important, but it is not difficult; many hands can make it light! Please prayerfully consider this opportunity. For more information, contact Robert Ball or 215-345-6625.

Adjusted Office Hours: August 20 – 24
Please note: the parish office hours will be adjusted from Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 24 while Angie is on vacation. The office will be open from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

Self Defense Workshop: August 17
St. Paul’s parishioner Leon Psculkowski, a 4th Degree Black Belt, will teach a self-defense workshop for all ages and abilities on Friday, August 17th at 6:30pm in the Education Wing classrooms. A great mother/daughter workshop and/or college student prep class; invite your friends. There is no charge for this event. Please RSVP to the church office by phone (215-348-5511) or email.

Aid for Friends Cooking Day: August 18th at 9:00 am
Aid for Friends offers food and friendship to isolated and homebound individuals in the greater Philadelphia area. St. Paul’s supports this ministry through regular “cooking days” in our church kitchen. Our next one is Saturday, August 18 at 9:00 am. Casseroles or main courses are needed; meats and pasta are provided. Hope to see you there!

Book Group Meeting
The St. Paul’s Book Group is planning to meet on Wednesday, Sept. 12th at 7:30 in the Ed. Wing Conference Room to discuss The Snow Child, by Eowyn Ivey. All are welcome.

The Saint Paul’s Market is Open
Gardeners: If you are growing more than you can use, please bring in your extras!
Buyers: Please make a generous donation for what you take.
The offerings may be small as our gardens get going, but be sure to check each week to see what is available. Proceeds benefit the ‘Little Red House’ Collection, used to buy food for the residents of the Doylestown Homeless Shelter.

SAYES: Our Sister Parish in Guatemala
Until the beginning of September, there will be a large jar in the narthex for donations that will also be included in the final amount that will be sent to St. Mary’s. The month of September will be dedicated, again, to a fundraising campaign to coincide with the start of the school year. If you write a check, please make the check out to St. Paul’s with SAYES in the memo line. Thank you for your generosity and how you helped to brighten a child’s future. The Outreach Committee, Mary Lou Parry, Chair

The Toddler Room at St. Paul’s
St. Paul’s offers nursery care for our littlest ones during the 10:00 service on Sundays in our Toddler Room, located on the stage of Paxson Hall. Parents of children ages 6 months to 3 years can drop them off starting at 9:30am. This room is very kid-friendly, with toys, books, and even a crib for those needing a nap. Feel free to make use of it as needed, whether for the whole service or until Communion. Children of all ages are always welcome in church. As Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me…”
