Announcements

Summer Class: Confirmation, Reception, Reaffirmation
Our summer class preparing candidates to receive the rites of Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation continues Sunday at 9:00am in the Education Wing Conference Room. This week’s topic: “Prayer—offering up to God our selves, our souls and bodies.” Candidates will have the opportunity to receive these sacramental rites when Bishop Gutiérrez visits our church on August 19.

Healing Prayers and Anointing: Sunday at Both Services
Members of our healing ministry will be present Sunday at both services to offer prayers for healing, and anointing for those who desire it. After you receive Communion, just walk toward the back by the baptismal font, where they stand ready to pray with you.

Hole-y Sunday
The first Sunday of each month, the Vestry will be gracing the table of Paxson Hall with the sweet confectionary called donuts.  What better way to connect with old friends and new than snacking on an all-time favorite. Join your Vestry in the powder and the glory of Donuts!

Mass in the Chapel on Monday
St. Paul’s will observe the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord on Monday, August 6. All are welcome at this simple mass, starting at 12pm in the Chapel. Enter through the office doors on Pine Street. Come and spend a few moments with us as we keep this feast.

New Accommodations for Wheelchairs in the Church
You may have noticed a different arrangement in the back of the church: the last two pews have been replaced with freestanding chairs. The purpose is to provide better accommodations for those who use wheelchairs (and their caregivers), and demonstrate hospitality towards them. The pews can now be found along the side walls of our downstairs Chapel.

Forward Day by Day for August–October is now available on the tract rack.

Leaflets, Inserts, & Pew Cards
We now have an updated (slimmer) service leaflet. Scripture readings are in the insert of the bulletin; service music is now found in sleeved “pew cards,” (several in each pew), or in the front ‘S’ section of the Hymnal; and as ever, the liturgy is found in The Book of Common Prayer (BCP).

The Saint Paul’s Market is Open
Gardeners: If you are growing more than you can use, please bring in your extras!
Buyers: Please make a generous donation for what you take.
The offerings may be small as our gardens get going, but be sure to check each week to see what is available. Proceeds benefit the ‘Little Red House’ Collection, used to buy food for the residents of the Doylestown Homeless Shelter.

Altar Guild Cleaning Day: Saturday, August 11th at 10:00 am
The Altar Guild will be cleaning the altar, silver, and altar accessories in preparation for the Bishop’s visit on August 19. Brunch will be provided.

School Supply Collection to benefit Bucks County Housing Group
It's that time again! We are collecting back to school supplies for the benefit of Bucks County students ranging from kindergarten to high school. The list of supplies needed is available at the Narthex table. There is a box in the coat room where you can leave your donations by August 12th. New supplies only please. Thank you! -Maureen McGraw

SAYES: Our Sister Parish in Guatemala
Until the beginning of September, there will be a large jar in the narthex for donations that will also be included in the final amount that will be sent to St. Mary’s. The month of September will be dedicated, again, to a fundraising campaign to coincide with the start of the school year. If you write a check, please make the check out to St. Paul’s with SAYES in the memo line. Thank you for your generosity and how you helped to brighten a child’s future. The Outreach Committee, Mary Lou Parry, Chair

The Toddler Room at St. Paul’s
St. Paul’s offers nursery care for our littlest ones during the 10:00 service on Sundays in our Toddler Room, located on the stage of Paxson Hall. Parents of children ages 6 months to 3 years can drop them off starting at 9:30am. This room is very kid-friendly, with toys, books, and even a crib for those needing a nap. Feel free to make use of it as needed, whether for the whole service or until Communion. Children of all ages are always welcome in church. As Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me…”
