Announcements

Summer Class: Confirmation, Reception, Reaffirmation
Our summer class preparing candidates to receive the rites of Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation continues today at 9:00am in the Education Wing Conference Room. This week’s topic: “Bible—the living and breathing story of God’s abiding faithfulness.” Candidates will have the opportunity to receive these sacramental rites when Bishop Gutiérrez visits our church on August 19.

Healing Prayers and Anointing: Sunday at Both Services
Members of our healing ministry will be present Sunday at both services to offer prayers for healing, and anointing for those who desire it. After you receive Communion, just walk toward the back by the baptismal font, where they stand ready to pray with you.

Hole-y Sunday
The first Sunday of each month, the Vestry will be gracing the table of Paxson Hall with the sweet confectionary called donuts.  What better way to connect with old friends and new than snacking on an all-time favorite. Join your Vestry in the powder and the glory of Donuts!

VBS: Thank You!
THANK YOU to everyone who was involved with VBS God Perfect this past week.  Thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who allowed us to teach their child(ren) about God's Perfect Love.  Thank you to all of the donations.  Everyone was able to eat a dinner and have a snack each night because of you.  Thank you to Angie Stoots who completed so much of the beyond-the-scenes jobs.  Thank you to everyone who filled out a stat cards-we loved the jokes and words of encouragement.  Thank you to the kitchen help, those who came early and stayed later to cook, set-up the dinner and clean up; Tom Smith, George Wiemann, AJ Mayorga, Widgette Kelly, Karen Mazzo, Laura Klebek, Gene Kennedy, Gayle Herrman, and Richard Pitts. Thank you to the young adults and tweens who volunteered their time to watch the little ones in the nursery and were in charge of making sure the children were in the right place at the right time.  (I think they had fun as well!)  Thank you Kaitlynne Burke, Elizabeth Kennedy, Andela Dozier, Emma Ward, Liam Kelly, James Frey, Sarah Hutchinson, Sofia Leonardis, Maddie Leonardis, Madelynn Massey, Ainsley Massey, and Claire Tierney.  Thank you to Mary Smith for keeping the children active and working together through fun games.  Thank you to Maureen McGraw and Elizabeth Pitts for creating crafts and watching their vision become a reality.  Thank you to Richard Pitts and AJ Mayorga for organizing and cleaning up the snacks.  Thank you to Kristin Moore, who brought the scripture to life every night and had great discussions with the children.  Thank you to Father Moore, Kristin Moore, and Ainsley Massey for providing music for the children to sing and dance to.  'Music with the Moores' was truly a highlight for everyone at VBS!  It was a TEAM effort and such a FUN week!  Thank you so much!
Jim and Rebekah Massey

Leaflets, Inserts, & Pew Cards
You may have noticed our updated (slimmer) service leaflet. Scripture readings are in the insert of your bulletin; service music is now found in sleeved “pew cards,” (several in each pew), or in the ‘S’ section of the Hymnal. The liturgy is found in The Book of Common Prayer (BCP).

Flower Memorials
If you have a scheduled flower memorial and have not sent in payment, please submit it at your earliest convenience. You can contact Lisa Farina or the church office with any questions regarding memorials. Lisa Farina, Head of the Flower Guild

SAYES: Our Sister Parish in Guatemala
Until the beginning of September, there will be a large jar in the narthex for donations that will also be included in the final amount that will be sent to St. Mary’s. The month of September will be dedicated, again, to a fundraising campaign to coincide with the start of the school year. If you write a check, please make the check out to St. Paul’s with SAYES in the memo line. Thank you for your generosity and how you helped to brighten a child’s future. The Outreach Committee, Mary Lou Parry, Chair

The Toddler Room at St. Paul’s
St. Paul’s offers nursery care for our littlest ones during the 10:00 service on Sundays in our Toddler Room, located on the stage of Paxson Hall. Parents of children ages 6 months to 3 years can drop them off starting at 9:30am. This room is very kid-friendly, with toys, books, and even a crib for those needing a nap. Feel free to make use of it as needed, whether for the whole service or until Communion. Children of all ages are always welcome in church. As Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me…”
