Save the Date: Bishop Gutiérrez’s Visitation on August 19
We recently received some exciting news: on Sunday, August 19, Bishop Daniel Gutiérrez will visit St. Paul’s. It has been quite a while since the diocesan bishop has made a Sunday morning visit to our church, so this is truly a special occasion. Mark your calendars, and save the date!
Confirmation, Reception, Reaffirmation: 1st Meeting next Sunday, June 17
This summer, the Rector will offer preparation for youth and adults seeking confirmation, reception, or reaffirmation during the Bishop’s visit on August 19. An initial meeting will be held at 11:00am next Sunday, June 17 in the Ed. Wing Conference Room. All those interested in receiving these sacramental rites are welcome to attend. Noon Mass Monday in the Chapel
St. Paul’s will observe the Feast of Saint Barnabas this Monday, June 11. All are welcome at this simple mass, starting at 12pm in the Chapel. Enter through the office doors on Pine Street. Come and spend a few moments with us as we keep this feast.

Singing the Psalms at the 10am Mass
Hymns are sung every Sunday in churches throughout the world—but did you know that hymn singing is a fairly recent practice? Hymns (as we know them) have only been around for a few centuries, but the practice of singing the Psalms goes back thousands of years. In these weeks after Pentecost, at the 10:00am mass we will take up this ancient practice by learning to sing the Psalms together, using simple and accessible tunes. By the summer’s end, we will be well-versed (or at least, to quote the Psalmist, we’ll “make a joyful noise unto the Lord”).

Aid for Friends Cooking Day: June 16th at 9:00 am
Aid for Friends offers food and friendship to isolated and homebound individuals in the greater Philadelphia area. St. Paul’s supports this ministry through regular “cooking days” in our church kitchen. Our next one is Saturday, June 16 at 9:00 am. Casseroles or main courses are needed; meats and pasta are provided. Hope to see you there!

The Prayer Shawl Ministry will meet on Saturday, June 16  at 11 am in the Ed Wing Conference Room. All knitters and crocheters are welcome. Bring what you are working on or get some ideas and yarn from our Stash.  Feel free to bring a snack, drink or sandwich. For questions, contact
Marie Ciampa (215-723-4999) or Jacky Grande (215-491-6113).

Outreach Opportunity: Packing Food for the Hungry
Consider participating in Bucks Knocks out Hunger, a United Way-sponsored project that helps to fight hunger in Bucks County. On June 22, 11:30-1:30 at Delaware Valley University, volunteers will be packing 125,000 nutritious, shelf stable meals that will help fight hunger for Bucks County residents. Come help pack food, or consider making a financial contribution to the United Way. For more information, contact Mary Lou Parry.

SAYES: Our Sister Parish in Guatemala
Until the beginning of September, there will be a large jar in the narthex for donations that will also be included in the final amount that will be sent to St. Mary’s. The month of September will be dedicated, again, to a fundraising campaign to coincide with the start of the school year. If you write a check, please make the check out to St. Paul’s with SAYES in the memo line. Thank you for your generosity and how you helped to brighten a child’s future. The Outreach Committee, Mary Lou Parry, Chair

The Toddler Room at St. Paul’s
St. Paul’s offers nursery care for our littlest ones during the 10:00 service on Sundays in our Toddler Room, located on the stage of Paxson Hall. Parents of children ages 6 months to 3 years can drop them off starting at 9:30am. This room is very kid-friendly, with toys, books, and even a crib for those needing a nap. Feel free to make use of it as needed, whether for the whole service or until Communion. Children of all ages are always welcome in church. As Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me…”
